What is Pharmacovigilance?

Pharmacovigilance is the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug related problems. (WHO definition)

What is an adverse reaction?

An adverse reaction is a response to a medicinal product which is noxious and unintended, and which occurs at doses normally used in man for the prophylaxis, diagnosis or therapy of disease or for the modifications of physiological function.

Why should adverse reactions be reported?

By reporting adverse reactions for Pharma-Tech products you help us to ensure the safety of our products and our patients. Also the information provided will enable us to fulfill our reporting responsibilities to health authorities, which require that all Marketing Authorization Holders should provide information on the adverse reactions of their marketed products.

Who should report?

It is the responsibility of each one of us to report any adverse reaction associated with the use of medicines. If you are a physician, pharmacist, nurse, patient or even someone who has witnessed an adverse reaction in a patient, please don’t hesitate to report.
